Onto Warsaw

Woody was back on the bus ready for our next destination Warsaw ☺

passing through toll gates

with a stop at this very sad place

Oswiecim, better known as Auschwitz, the most infamous site of the Holocaust

there were many bus groups here

and I am not going to say very much as well, what can I say

can't begin to imagine what it was like

I will just leave it here and I rather just keep the memory of those poor soles from so many places far and wide

no words.......a minutes silence when back on the bus

we then stopped off at Czestochowa to visit the 14th century Monastery of Jasna Gora, famous for the black Madonna

bus parked and we all walked towards the monastery

I can say there were thousands of people here

and I did get this photo of "the black madonna" not very good but said a prayer while there

we arrived at our hotel

yes more fancy stairs

and another very comfy bed

we had a short evening walk after an included meal out

next morning took a pic outside our hotel

we joined another local expert for a walk tour first on the bus past Charles de gaulle

off the bus and in the streets of Warsaw

the old town royal castle

another large square with many buildings

Franz liszt

and here we gathered together for a group photo at the Chopin statue

the germans blew up the original and luckily the mould was still available

monument of ghetto heroes

yes hello from us again

good to keep happy thoughts in your head when amongst these memorials

back to the square

plenty of great buildings again

we sure did plenty of walking on our own

paintings on the walls

iron knight

nice castle type wall

they hold many markets here also and lots of cafes to eat and drink at

I had an interesting drink in a little cafe off one of the lanes

a bit of pork onion dish as you do......

our plan for Warsaw and tomorrow heading to Berlin

goodbye Warsaw ........
