Goodbye to the UK

Well my final post on this amazing trip we have had over 6 weeks.
Goodbye to Greenford and the Bridge hotel

View as we were leaving and Nigel kindly came to get us and drop us at our next hotel for 1 night ☺☺

And look at view from the road....close planes for sure

And being Heathrow airport there is a plane landing every 30 seconds

We could actually see 4 lined up in the sky coming in.......

We had a walk down a road near the hotel and went to look at this minature steam train place Nigel had told us about and pointed it out to us in the car.
And as luck had it, open tomorrow when we will be on our long flights home lol

But there was a mini electric set working in this shop

Toot Toot ♥

and Woody relaxed that night watching Midsomer

Up bright and early to the airport and saw this poster.....I am trying my best to do this ☺☺

Selfie waiting to board

View down the corridor

Relaxing on 1st flight of 6 hours

Ready for 2nd flight of 15hrs.........
Well now we have been back for a 2 weeks and finally end of trip posts.......
Thank you Nigel for taking us to the airport hotel and meeting with us.
Thank you Gordon for having us stay with you and for driving us on many occasions.
Thank you Colin and Clive for meeting with us and may you all keep well till we return again.
I do hope some of you get to see my posts and enjoy them too xoxoxo

Out and about in London

Hey again.....another day of tourist fun and trains and buses....this is called Marble Arch
Marble Arch is a 19th-century white marble faced triumphal arch and London landmark. The structure was designed by John Nash in 1827 to be the state entrance to the cour d'honneur of Buckingham Palace; it stood near the site of what is today the three-bayed, central projection of the palace containing the well known balcony.[1] In 1851 it was relocated and following the widening of Park Lane in the early 1960s is now sited, incongruently isolated, on a large traffic island at the junction of Oxford Street, Park Lane and Edgware Road

there was a sign that said "don't feed the birds"

Plenty of double decker buses here

The famous Hyde Park and is Massive.....

plenty of seats to hire

best pic I could get of this and now where near as fancy as I thought it would be....but allowed to put your hands or feet in the water
"The design aims to reflect Diana's life, water flows from the highest point in two directions as it cascades, swirls and bubbles before meeting in a calm pool at the bottom. The water is constantly being refreshed and is drawn from London's water table."

Plenty of geese and swans here

A glimpse of how large this park really is.....

So many paths and we were on the outskirts

Then off to Buckingham Palace we went

Out the front and the gates were open

Later they were closed

on guard

And these came buy

The Queen Victoria Memorial commemorates the death of Queen Victoria in 1901

In the distance we could see the London eye

More of the monument

And look Big Ben way over there

on the other side of the monument and you can see Queen Victoria as she faces away from the palace

A squirrel

And another

We walked to see Clock tower "Big Ben" (is the name of the bell) and as you can see under reconstruction. No ringing as turned off while the work continues.

Trafalgar Square (feel like living the game Monopoly)

Another of those wonderful lions

Took this and the next 3 snaps of the square

Neat pub

And we walked to get a pic of "The Eye"

As we walked around snapped Ben and Parliament building

Looking down the river Thames

We then took a train to this town, only to find out we could have got off at an earlier station to go to a shop we had heard about. So a bus ride later

Outside this place and it is full of all Dr Who stuff and a little museum but no pics allowed

Except they let us take this one

and they took this one for us ☺☺
You go through the Tardis into the museum

We then went to a nice old pub down the road with neat looking ceiling

and nice old carpet and a relaxing drink.
We walked heaps this day and had loads of fun
xoxoxo
