Now we were enjoying Falkirk and being back in Scotland ☺ Paul though he would play some fun photo time with Woody
There he is in the mouth of The mini Kelpie.....you will later why you would wonder how Woody got up in the real Kelpies....luckily he did not fall in too
The Falkirk wheel which has replaced 18+ locks.....it rotates around from bottom to top or vice versa
it was a rainy day lol
Walking along the canal away from the wheel
going through the tunnel
looking back into tunnel
coming out the other side to follow the canal
and another lock
top of this lock
bottom of next section
on and on they go lol
we then drove to see these beauties and the sun was at least shining
a lock was here too
lovely wild flowers
getting closer to The Kelpies
The Kelpies are 30-metre-high horse-head sculptures, standing next to a new extension to the Forth and Clyde Canal, and near River Carron, in The Helix, a new parkland project built to connect 16 communities in the Falkirk Council Area, Scotland
and a white swan was between them
now you see why Woody could not be put up there......30metres
Just love this face ♥
We then drove on to a little steam engine I had read about and was not far from Falkirk
The Bo’ness and Kinneil Railway is a heritage railway in Bo'ness, near Edinburgh, Scotland. It is operated by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society, and operates a total of over 5 miles of track
They had at least 3 steam engines
I stood up on the footbridge
and waited for the steam to come
Toot Toot
We then had a walk around Bo'ness
The Hippodrome Cinema in Bo'ness near Falkirk is an early example of a purpose-built cinema and thought to be the oldest such building surviving in Scotland.....1912
but not open on the day we were there
Next morning we packed up and drove back to Edinburgh airport to return the hire car and Woody was excited as we had another tour coming up
Dropped off the car and bused it back into Edinburgh
and took our cases to our room for the night
Yep bathroom
Woody had his own chair too.....
Sought of view out to those awesome buildings......
We had a great Scottish night but no photos and next head for the next tour.....
xoxoxoxoxo
may have a rest for a day or 3 lol
Loved the waterways, horse sculptures and steam train! What an amazing trip! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
