Well Woody sure is enjoying this trip and I know quite a few readers are too.
Bear outside our hotel in Banff
Fairmont Banff Springs hotel
We went for a walk next morning
Horses, we won't be riding any of them lol
Looking back from Bows Falls to hotel
We continued our walk into town and if you enlarge this pic a LOT you may just see the chipmunk between short stump and tree trunk
Walked past a footbridge
We chose to walk into town on the main road bridge.....if you zoom you will see Indian head figures
Great weather and enjoying wearing our coats
Horse drawn carriage went by
Looking up to one of the many mountains in Banff
Stunning
Oh look we found a Moose and a lovely lady took this pic for us
Paul having fun with the moose
This was back in the hotel
We had a tourist outing to this.......The Cave and basin national historic site
Thermal pool here no longer allows public to bathe
And special snails live in here and keep it clean
We were taken to see Two Jack lake
Paul did some filming
We also saw another lake nearby....whoops no note taken lol
A walk was also taken here and really lovely
Some carved bears here too
Some younger ones.....taking as many as can as don't know if we will see a REAL bear
Bear proof bins everywhere
Dinner in a rather fancy restaurant on site and this Deer with us lol
Scallop entree
Boar pate
Beef tenderloin
Pork chop
And yes we got to meet a Mounty.....he is a retired Mounty called Pat.....lovely man...not me in pic lol
Van Hoorne president of the canadian pacific railway
And we think he is pointing to where the station is
We returned to Bow falls with everyone and were show this phone box......attacked by a local bear
All enjoying
And as we were leaving Banff we were taken here
Up we were going
Look how keen I look lol
A neat mirror bear
The clouds cleared and were able to get lots of snowy shots
Looking down to the walk to a hut called Sulphur Mountain Cosmic Ray Station
Our cool selfie
Paul thought he would dance with that bear
This Gondola was like a rollercoaster at the start going down lol
I saw a little movie while up there and snapped the lights......
Paul took a hike to that Station
All the way up there
I just went down a few sections
And took pics back to the Gondola Area
On our drive to next destination they stopped so we could take views of our hotel
Very neat and wonderful place to stay
Another spot we stopped at and saw Hoodoos
You could still see our hotel way down the centre back area
Goodbye to Banff and about to say hello to Lake Louise......
Currently here and about to move on again xoxoxo
Wow.. what amazing things you saw! I've always wanted to visit Banff but have not gotten there as yet. I'm jealous! You sure have planned an amazing adventure. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the lovely photos, Wendy! My husband and I drove through Banff in 1972 and camped there one night...so beautiful! I am glad you enjoyed seeing it as well. xx
