Wurzburg and Miltenberg and Rudesheim

Back again.......here is one of those fun towel animals that often surprise you when you come back to your room ☺

We had a stroll around Wurzburg which is located in the north-western Bavaria. This building is called "Residenz" built for the prince-bishops and was very decadent indeed, no photo's allowed inside.....and in front is the Franconia fountain

a distant shot of the Alte Mainbrucke (old bridge) which was erected from 1473-1543in place of an old Romanesque bridge. The characteristic 12 statues were added around 1730. Google it for better pics ☺

Then onto here

still warm and sunny

Woody relaxing on the towel animal lol

cruising along as you do

Miltenberg......a small village which suffered greatly from a 30 year war and could not afford to replace its old, medieval heart with its half timbered houses.....it is as if Miltenberg is stuck in time, just like a fairy tale ☺☺

an interesting fountain lol
we enjoyed our short visit here....

yep going through a lock again

onto Rudesheim

Where we were parked

some of our tour group rode off in the little train.....

we did the own stroll again around Rudesheim a popular winemaking town at the beginning of Rhine Gorge....

Got to love seeing the quaint buildings and this is Eagle Tower built in the 15th century

we had a ride on a cable car up to the Germania Monument

the views were AMAZING as we went up

my selfie on cable car

the Monument which was so HUGE could not get a decent pic......
