On to Edinburgh and Outander fun along the way

Woody ready for another day of travelling this time back to Edinburgh ☺☺

I had looked up a couple of places that were used in the making of "Outlander" and this church was part of the witch trial

Some very old graves here

And lucky for us, someone had unlocked the church so we were allowed to take a couple of pics

The trial was filmed in here

Plenty of pics here showing from the show

We then drove along this narrow road to Drummond Castle

The exterior wall

The castle

and another side pic, but we did not go inside

Just a pic of the garden used in Series 2 as the garden of Versilles

Leaving that castle under its bridge

Off to this distillery which also was part of the series but down in the cellars

A lovely river Teith flowing past

And this is as far as I got, pic of a barrel

Anyway next stop was Doune Castle which in Outlander is Castle Leoch, the seat of Mackenzie Clan again did not go inside this one but loved seeing it for sure ♥

Then we traveled through Sterling and visited the Stirling Castle but only a few snaps as not enough time to do a proper tour around inside

Looking down to a grave site

Out the front area

It is big and having renovations done too

The entrance in......

But maybe we will be back for a good look ☺☺

Goodbye Stirling Castle

Then onto another castle.....this one is called Blackness Castle and in the series same name

This one was used as the base for  Black Jack who was a hideous sadistic Captain

Paul enjoyed it here checking out all the dim dark places

and stairs, yes stairs.....by now I had to avoid as the front of my thighs were agony when climbing back down lol

I hung around in the courtyard

Isn't amazing what was made all those centuries ago
It is a 15th century fortress

Little spots to hide or be chained up

Good old spiral staircase which Paul managed to trot up and down

I ventured out onto the pier attached

Really quite a large castle once poking around inside

more spiral stairs

Neat solid gate locked each night
So end of this bit of fun and onto Edinburgh xoxoxo
