Something a little different

Hello my faithful friends ☺☺ Thanks for dropping by ♥ We have been wanting to do more with smoking food......so we bought these wood chips to have a test run....

And this little faithful smoker had seen too much work and needed to be replaced.....Photo from when it was still quite new.......so

We got out our little kettle bbq and put inside a little metal box which holds the wood chips over the charcoal.....

Here it is after cooking and does have a lid that goes over the top

A bit of smoke happening ☺

And here are 2 of the snags.....they were quite tasty, almost like a chorizo sausage

And we ate them with this little walnut lettuce salad.......We also did some more today but were not quite as good so not sure about the smoked snag thing.....chicken yes, fish yes.....

This is the new bbq smoker which is a lot bigger than the original tin box lol and quite impressive it is......

Can even check that temperatures are going ok......

Plenty of room in here for smoking a few layers ☺☺

And a bowl to hold water to keep moisture happening within the food.....

We are wondering if we could make use of the herbs we have here in the smoker ☺ Rosemary

Sage

Thyme ☺☺ Food for thought lol 

And finally I am back on the sock knitting with the mini circular......lets see how much I stick to it....

Some sewing and a surprise card from USA

Hello, I am still on the sewing bug and got to go with it while it hits.......

I do love these stork scissors my dear Mum gave me 2 years ago.......she actually gave me 2 pairs, one real small and these ones

Look I made myself a black and white Pineapple t-shirt, very roomy too ☺☺

More on the 2nd sock 

and have now turned that pesky heel and onto the round and round of the foot ♥

We stopped in at that coffee place which has all these various salt and pepper shakers.....we sat with these cute cats this time.....

And a surprise card in the mail for me......what a cute reindeer ☺☺

Last night I cooked us up some drunken chicken.....never made this marinaded chook before and can tell you it was delish.....a dash or 2 of vodka was this chickens choice lol 

I completed another pair of fingerless mitts now in my gift giving drawer ☺☺

And today again I cut out with my sharp scissors and my pin holder another top......

Sewing away again....... 

And here is that top, with feathers all over it and fits great......

Crazy weather

Well we sure got some rain on Tuesday and much needed, but temperatures have been 28+ Celsius

Yes this looks like a junk heap lol rain pouring down 

Neighbors gutters have lots of holes.....

Even the Winjana got a wash ☺☺

The plants were really soaking it up....

And as fast as it began it was gone again.....have had quite a few more hot days and today, Friday is cool again with little chance of rain 

We have some of the family coming for a night next week, so the man has put up a tent for fun ☺

I have most of our presents already wrapped and Ratus is guarding them for me ♥

A bit of crochet, knit, sewing and new glasses ☺

Hello again, here is a ball of bits and pieces now weighing almost 70 grams, which, I tie together then will probably crochet a scruffy scarf.....made one years ago and love it as it has bits from all of my past projects ☺☺

Still working on that sock, slightly growing......

Another good start to one of my mornings with poached egg, salmon, avocado and tomato......quite liking the low carb eating.....just don't mention bread or pasta to me though lol 

 

I had ordered quit a bit of fabric from darncheapfabrics an online store and had wanted this bird fabric for a while......It arrived the other last week....I love this bird fabric and it has a little bit of stretch ☺☺

And here I am in the top I made on Wednesday......just another copy of one of my old tops which I still wear ♥

We had another quick trip down to visit my Mum and she loved my new top ☺☺ 

I also have managed some more crochet of mittens, this time with the fingers covered and thumb....will show complete pics soon.....but as I go round and round there is always a slope of the stitches....can you see near the hook? Going to research this.....

Anyway working on something else which may have to be kept secret till Xmas lol 

A healthy lunch today (Friday 13th boo) of salad with light pork burgers and some yum red onion

And how fitting for Friday the 13th, my new Alice Cooper t-shirt arrived all the way from America.....only took 5 weeks lol......yes I am quite an Alice fan from way back when I was 15 ☺☺

And here is some more crochet and this time after a quick google to see how to straighten the around and around.....apparently if you increase hdc every 2nd row and just slip stitch as usual it all works straight amazing.....well I think it is, and here is a link straighter-seam-working-hdc-in-the-round/ and I must say I thank Janaya from Charmed by Ewe ♥♥

I have NEW glasses.....one pair is reading/computer/crochet close stuff and the other with the purple is for everything.....transition/multifocal and I LOVE THEM.....got a newer pair a few months back and well.....they are annoying on my nose and quite heavy....may just use for driving....

Do I look happy?? I sure feel happy lol  and I had even been to the dentist (which I HATE) and all is good in my tooth world for now lol
