Lots of rain and a drive out and about

Here is one of my Aloe Vera plants in flower.....rather neat looking flower I think and hello out there ☺

Still working on that play mat and this is part of the grass square

We have been having a LOT of rain and a pond has appeared in our backyard.....perhaps I should get myself some ducks ☺♥

The daffodils have not liked the extra rain.......

The other night I thought I would knock up some bread dough and make us some home baked pizzas for our tea ☺

Capsicum, olives, garlic, mozzarella, mushrooms, one pizza had hot salami and cabana, the other had prawns ☺

I must say they were really delicious and had for tea and breakfast the next morning lol....also I made the marinara sauce with a can of tomatoes, basil, oregano, garlic, onion and a dash of vegetable stock ♥

As I said, there has been heaps of rain so yesterday we took a drive through a few of the towns near us and where some of the rivers flow......this is a farmers paddock

They sure have their own lake happening here

The Latrobe river is a large river which flows near our town and boy was it flowing yesterday and nudging breaking the banks on each side.....

As you can see it was another wet day

These paddocks look lovely with all the yellow ☺

Now this river is the Avon

And in this part on the bridge looking down you normally only see one part slightly flowing and the rest very dry.......just rocks

But today it sure had plenty of water and spread all the way across

It was flowing very fast, hard to tell in this photo though

Bubbling even.....

Looking back along the bridge, you can see just how wide this river could be......

And across the road looking towards the railway bridge which crosses the Avon

I must say the weather was FREEZING lol and very windy......we drove to this other section of the Latrobe river where it meets up with the Thomson river

Wearing my trusty blundstones on this wet day trip

And this obviously is the swing bridge

The middle section rotates so that boats of tall height can pass through on either side

Looking back to the meeting of these 2 rivers. Normally there is a difference in the water but today it was very murky.....

Looking back the other way, where they are totally combined ☺

One side of the mechanics of the bridge....

A small park is on the other side and you can drive to this spot but have to take another road to get to that side with a car.....no driving on this bridge

The other side mechanics.....
Well this was a different post for a change......next up I may have a little road trip we are going to do visiting one of my boys ♥♥
Thanks for dropping in and may your day be a good one today ☺

A bit of cooking and more destruction in the bathroom

A quick hello and goodbye as we disappear for a few days, so possibly offline....
Used up the BBQ onions in this quick tasty dish ☺

Used up a couple of last bits of home baked bread, covered with the onions and some grated cheese and 2 beaten eggs poured over

Quick bake in the oven and leftover salad from that BBQ too

Good quick tasty healthy lunch.....and this is one of those small plates, not a dinner plate lol

As for the bathroom renovation.....here is more of the walls being removed by the man himself...

Shaving cabinet with mirror front, now removed, hence the hole that you see and this whole section will be removed so goodbye archway in the bathroom ☺

It certainly makes it a bit cooler in the bathroom lol

Shaving cabinet now living on chair in spare bedroom....

And the towels on the clothes horse for now....by April we will have our new fixed up bathroom ☺☺

Another quick meal for me (the man not keen on prawns) some peppercorns thrown in and put on top of some ripped up lettuce ☺

Made a couple of olive/garlic/cheese loaves to take with us too....
Well see ya later as we go missing with the van group ☺

Cooking and family visiting fun ☺

Welcome back, on Friday I decided to whip up a batch of M&M cookies/biscuits as we were going to have visitors for lunch ☺☺

I put in a little too much M&M's so the next batch will do half

The recipe made roughly 40 cookies and if I made them a bit smaller would be HEAPS....going to make some more too because the van group we belong to, there is one guy who LOVES these so going to knock up some more to take on our little trip next week ☺☺

I also made this garlic and rosemary cob style loaf to have with the BBQ we were going to be having with those visitors ☺☺
I also boiled up some spuds to bake on Saturday as they crisp up real well just with some olive oil spray, quite healthy, these are also some low Gi spuds ☺

And had these wings marinating for a few days in my own concoction of mix to be also cooked in the oven, to have along side some BBQ steak and salad ☺☺

Some more birds have been drinking from my water dish, but not very colourful....

Where have all the fun bright coloured birds gone? Hope they appear here soon ☺

And LOOK yes my girl came to visit for the lunch on Saturday and look how tiny she looks next to my big sunflower ☺

She is about the same height as the smaller one lol

There is grand boy number 2

And my girl's guy who is quite tall himself but dwarfed by this beauty lol

A lovely group shot of the awesome foursome who traveled 160 klm's to spend the arvo with us ☺☺
A bit of attacking/friction went on with number 1 grand boy (who did not want to be photographed with the sunflower lol) and number 2

Hence why in this pic number 2 does not look happy lol We love all of these guys ♥

And me with them and they look happier separated by Granny and their mum lol

Good to get a couple of photo's....and grand boy 1 is so tall now!

And could not forget the man himself who was barbecuing the onion/snag/steaks....which was all fabulous and everyone ate heaps, did not get any photo's of the cooked up food as we were having too much fun with the family ☺
It has been a great weekend here, how is it at our place?
See you all again soon xoxo
