Kitchen renovation TA DAH!!!

Finally the kitchen has been completed except a pure water tap to be put in Friday maybe.
Remember these tiles? I know the man remembers them well after.....

Having to do this!!!! Back breaking for sure.

And the old cupboards and oven/stove top.

That wonderful brick wallpaper lol ☺

Tiles all gone and wallpaper.

Goodbye old oven and bench.

Final shot........

Hello new cupboards and bench!! So much lighter too.

Another angle shot showing empty space for new fridge/freezer, and the wall oven is a side opening door, so easy to use.

Yesterday the timber distressed floor was put in and we are very happy and it looks fantastic!!

The new fridge/freezer is in and is wonderful and can you see the black and white bats in the distance???
There they are, hanging around the pantry and over the wonderful 5 gas burner cook top ☺☺ Yes I am very happy lol.
Even our old dishwasher looks great.

Final shot, amazing how much bigger it all seems.
A big thankyou to Wayne at hi tek kitchens for the amazing job, highly recommend to anyone in our area!!!
Hope you have enjoyed seeing this transformation and I will be back with a little crochet next time.
Thank you again for the lovely comments and visiting ☺☺☺♥

Kitchen reno continues and family times.

Well here is the wallpaper which looks like bricks and was on all walls in the kitchen and while I was on road trip to pick  mum up from hospital (ongoing treatment) and return one of my grandsons to his mum, the man decided this had to go and of course those ceramic tiles also on the floor.
Wallpaper has been removed from around doorway.

And also from around the area where we normally would have our table (which is living in the lounge for now). Also have moved the microwave, fridge and freezer over to where floor tiles have now been removed and will stay here till the new kitchen is installed.

There he is putting the curtain back for now with no wallpaper a huge difference already with the brightness in the room.
Another shot of kitchen with the wallpaper still in room and the desk and bench.

We have moved the desk we had on the other side of bench where I kept all my teas on bench side and on the other it had 4 drawers with various kitchen things kept and is now down in spare bedroom.

The pantry which is getting demolished with all of our foodstuffs now going to be in our spare room till kitchen completed.

Here is where it all is at the moment, and I have sorted it all now to live on that desk which we relocated down to this room. Queen size bed now against the wall for more room too.

There much tidier, but will be interesting when we cook as will be up and down the hallway lol, luckily this is not a very big house ☺☺

The last of the tiles, all smashed up and ready to be relocated to the rubbish tip.

The last of another pile, really is amazingly light in the kitchen now ☺☺

Here I am with my 11yr old grandson at the movies watching Madagascar lol.

This is my gorgeous girl, his mum when I dropped him back home, she had had a sleep in and nice late shower ☺

This is one of their cats, the beautiful Dante' ♥♥

I then headed over to my sisters for the night as mum was staying in hospital an extra night and as I live 160klm's away did not think I would drive home to then return again, so a sleepover was the best idea lol. Here are 3 of her 4 girls, Isa brown chickens, rather pecky too I must say lol.

Baby zucchini's growing, wish my garden was like this, but then I have lots of good herbs instead ☺

This is my sister and one of her cats Jack, he normally has a lion's mane but because it is summer here and my goodness has it been bloody hot!! he loses the mane lol.

Would you believe this is Jack's sister Jill!!! Amazing eh, but think i may have featured them once before.

Those pecking chickens lol.

And here is mum, back home at her place, not a great shot but was taken with my mobile phone, it was a really hot day 38 Celsius but reached 40 so she actually looked better than this shows. Stayed the night with her then hit the road again.

To drop in on this little man before my road trip home. Spent an hour at his mum and dad's place and got to hold him for quite a while, he is cute of course. This is my sister holding him so I could take a couple of shots ☺☺

Yes I took even more shots but won't bore you with mega overload of baby Riley, almost 2mths old ☺☺
Hope you are all good out there in cyberworld.  Been lots of fires around due to the high temperatures and hope those affected are keeping safe. And to those of you in the winter zones, keeping warm.
Be back again soon and hopefully some more crochet again.
xoxo♥♥

The kitchen reno begins, crochet and cooking

The beginning of the kitchen renovation. Removal of ceramic floor tiles which would have been in this house since 1960+, so much fun ahead.....not.

The man started to remove from the eating area with a mini jackhammer.

The tiles also go into the kitchen area so is no small job and very hot work.

The Jackhammer and the floor getting a little clearer.

The rubble left over from the last bit done for now. He has to get as much adhesive off the slab which we will live with for quite a while. I must say the smell of these tiles was not nice, really like smelling rotten grass!!  Kitchen not going in till mid feb/march but with floor clear will be easier.
So to take my mind off it all and help the smells, decided to do a bit of bread baking. You have seen me do this quite a bit so sorry to bore anyone, but well I like the baking, my mojo is back lol.
A bit of a herb/cheese little loaf.

2 of the regular loaves we like and the toast is really lovely.

Should of added more cheese and herbs but was yummy anyway ☺

Ready for slicing and freezing.
So I also caught up on some crochet which, this one I have been working on for years, or should I say not working on. It is made with cooking twine/string and a 7mm hook from a book I have.

Never really block anything but figured this would need it so here it is on my foam board.
All blocked and rather pleased with myself as looking good.

Not a great pic but with the kitchen reno happening lighting not great. Going to give this to my sister who moved house a couple of years back, hope she likes it ☺

Do you remember me starting this little seahorse from the clever lady laughingpurplegoldfish Sharon. Well it should have been completed in December but well I got caught up in life.....
Well I made a few shortcuts and just added some punk/goth looks instead lol

There he is hanging out on our gate with some fur/wool as the frill section.
And don't look at next shot if you don't like Krypt Kiddie type dolls.

Here he is with one of my little dolls, she is Kitsune and said he did not need fins as she wanted to be able to just cuddle him, cute eh ☺

Now this may be more to crochet lover's liking. The Seraphina shawl which I have been sort of working on for years lol. The are a beautiful shawl, just like a bats wing ☺☺

Using some incredibly fine wool (possibly 2ply) which was gifted to me so taking my time with this one, wish me luck......

And got to do a bit of a tidy up with my stash and thought you may like to see most of the wool I have, especially the special dk stylecraft!!  Hope you are having fun in whatever you are doing. It has been incredibly hot here with a lot of fires throughout Oz and little Tassie. May the rain and cool weather help. Keep warm in the cooler places of the visitors here to my blog too.
take care xoxo
