More fireworks and flying

Hello from NZ, but this pic is from the night we again stayed in the city and due to Chinese new year still being celebrated, we got to see more fireworks and my mobile took pretty okay pics...

again plenty of loud noises

and lighting up the sky

boom

bang......

following morning we had our flight to NZ which was not till 8.45 am but bus picking us up at 5 am......do we look awake lol 

of course I am very happy to wait at the airport and watch the planes come and go 

waiting for our plane to be parked at the gate behind us.....

and there it is....no where near as big as the plane we caught to Europe it was MASSIVE lol 

Woody was ready wearing my headset 

and happy to be looking out over the wing 

getting refueled 

but this was interesting on the plane.....a praying mantis came in on a girls hoodie and a man helped get it off her and it ended up leaping off somewhere not far from us.....eventually it appeared on the seat in front of Paul and he had a plastic bag ready (had airline headphones in it and he had removed) with a bit of leaping  towards me he managed to bag it.....handed to air stewards before taking off.....and as it was an Oz praying mantis it was removed from the aircraft. Apparently if it had stayed on board the whole plane would have had to be sprayed to protect NZ from and Aussie pest.....so good deed done and it survived

now I will bore you with lots of wings snaps as we took off

very dry in this area of Melbourne, sure needs rain

Oh and I always either enjoy listening to music or watching concerts and as luck had it Crowded House concert which I had already seen at home was listed so watch again I did....google them if you don't know them, their music is awesome!

Time in the city

Well just look at these little pieces of artwork from my 2 oldest Grandboys which one had the date of 2003!!! My how time has flown and am sure I will come across more in my slow cleanup here lol 

And I finished this little Granny square blanket, just the right size for car seat or pusher and going to keep this one myself and use when we have Miss April :D 

On Friday we had a train trip into the city to meetup with Paul's kiddos....no pics taken

It was warm and sunny so we wore these hats and called ourselves "city slickers" lol

Woody also went with us and we stayed the night and I got some more crochet happening :D 

On Saturday we met some dear friends for lunch and also had them come to see the city digs which they liked and we also had plenty of fun chatting, walking and tram rides too but no snaps taken....

I got to get myself a new mobile Samsung S5 and have been taking snaps and it is pretty good

It was also the start of "Chinese New Year" so I had the chance to test the mobile camera out again through our Louvre windows

Today, Sunday we took a tram ride to check out the South Melbourne market

waiting for said tram......

we had a delish breakfast at a little pub and yes I did bite that brioche bun lol

this pic I took before we got on our country train.....I needed to check that my MYKI card was definitely scanned as ON as could incur big fine.....she assured me so I took a pic as evidence she let me through just in case......

Well that is it for now, have been real busy and we are back in city late Tuesday, this time driving back and looking after a little Miss <3 

New years eve fun and beyond

Hello again, here we are in the big smoke checking out where some of the fireworks were going to be near us......simple selfie looking back ☺

The television people were rehearsing HOURS before but was fun to watch....the young guy used to be our sport guy for Gippsland news but moved on the the big smoke with Channel 7 his name is Sean Sowerby ☺

Certainly looked like they were having fun lol 

Hours later getting ready for the real fireworks to begin.......

and they were impressive although my mobile can be a bit testy lol

We then walked back to our city joint to relax after midnight ♥

Next day we thought why not do the tourist thing and visit the Melbourne Zoo, so we caught a tram 

I did not take many pics of other animals but we are now members so can go back again and again for better snaps....monkeys here

We then took the train back into the city......

and did this tour.......

Creepy but also very interesting at the same time, normally no roofing so open to the hot days and freezing cold winters.....

Oh yes and apparently I was arrested for growing suspicious drugs and because of my T-Shirt guard said I was off the planet and out of this world lol  

a bit of fun......

and later we went to Crown which is a casino in Melbourne and checked out their Xmas display which was real neat

little eggs opened up with a different song in each egg.....Jingle bells here 

There was Frosty the snowman too next time will get better pics.....ended that day so wait till next year lol 

and this is a little plant Sarah gave me for Xmas and is staying in the city and already has a new leaf growing ♥
