Interesting vegetables and crochet lens cover

How interesting do these vegetables look!!  Have read about purple potato's and carrots before but never tried them.  So, thought I would pick up one of each for us to have with some chicken wings.

Prepared them with Rosemary and Garlic and a hint of oil. When cutting them we both had a sniff and even though they look like beetroot, which the man hates, they smelt just like a carrot and potato lol.

The man had prepared a Thai beef salad earlier in the day link here which we had already sampled and was yum and thought we would also have a bit of that with the meal.

Cooked wings and the purple potato and carrot, very very nice indeed. Give them a go if you don't mind looking at the wrong colours lol.

I thought it was about time I improved my lens cap for the new camera which you can see is a cut down stubby holder. Those who don't know a stubby holder is what you put your cold can or stubby (small bottle) of beer in to keep cold whilst drinking it ☺☺

Picked some leftover variegated wool and hook.

Looking down on the lens cap cover now glued to the stubby piece.

And another view to show I left room so it will fit nicely on the camera lens.
A nice rest from doing that blanket that is consuming me.
Hope you all have a good weekend, I am off to visit my Mum and also see my girl too ♥

Trying to feel warm and finished Platty.

Hello again, thought I would pop back with a few snaps from around home (garden) whilst I was trying to feel warm. Weather has been low of 2 and highs of around 13 so rather nippy after the trip to sunny qld. I do like the cold though so that is a good thing ☺
Here is one of my Rosemary plants in flower, I love rosemary soooo much and makes a lovely tea and of course so useful in cooking.

Those chilli's are thriving and yes I love hot food, Paul is not as crazy about hot as me but I try not to over do it in foods we are both going to eat lol.

Mini plant (should be a lot bigger) but has red capsicum just waiting to be picked and maybe roasted and then put in a good healthy sandwich with some cheese, yum.

Look!! Do you remember me showing you the shot of bulb planting in this post vegie garden
Well now I see a Daffodil just starting to poke up through the soil. I know I said I love Daffodils and will say it again, and cant wait to see a row of them, lets hope I am not away when they all flower as that man is planning more trips.....

Look how much the lettuces have grown too and now I am eating most days and few leaves picked fresh for my sandwich or with our meal at night.

This lemon tree has the nastiest thorns, but I forgive it as look at all these lemons, 5 in this pic and that is just the part I could photogragh properly, HEAPS.

Working on a little pattern for a clever lady out side (yes sitting on the milk crate) trying to warm up a little as inside the house the other day was 3 whilst outside was 12.

There is no end to this Rhubarb it just keeps on growing and I really must keep cooking it up as I do love it and have a recipe for a nice cake (low fat/cal too).

Here he is.....Platty, a pattern from this clever lady Polly the spotty platypus and pattern will be available after June.  Was a lot of fun to make and he is made out of leftover wool, many years old.

Named Platty because yes he has plaits.
Hope you are keeping warm where you are and thankyou for visiting.

Laundry renovations continue and the vegie garden

The front loader is now on its own drawed shelf and at a perfect height, no more  kneeling at the machine

The drawer is pretty big so can fit lots of laundry type things and my own tools too.

No more hole in the wall, all repaired and painted, now just need plumber to install the trough.

Amazing what a bit of villa board can do to a wall, ready for electrical point to be reinstalled.
Don't like finding this on my tomatoes plants!!! They are coming to an end, but, that does not mean some hideous green bugs have to sabotage the plants. Soon sorted this guy out and his friends ☺

Thought after attacking the bugs I would trim and re stake the last of the tomatoes plants.

Only a few fruits left on this one, but will be eaten by us, not bugs lol.

Picked up some lettuce seedlings from Aldi so in they went, hope they grown okay. Weather is amazing at the moment, but I know that wont last.

Also planted (unseen) Daffodil bulbs all along the front of this garden so now the long wait to see them come up and flower ☺

Those Corella's are still going crazy around here and the Cockatoos have also joined them upsetting quite a few of the neighboring dogs lol lol.
