Completing Crochet and laundry update

Have been on a short role with completing some crochet things so very happy with that.
Baby blanket below is for a niece and her and hubby like 2 teams, one black/white, the other gold/brown.
Due in June so don't know if they will see this, but that's okay.
Real good feeling to finish something. Pattern is just dc rows with a border of SC, dc, trc, dc, SC for those who know theses stitches (USA terms)

The pattern for the cushion cover comes from wonderful http://attic24.typepad.com/ and the pattern can be found here http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/summer-garden-granny-square.html Not as bright as Lucy's work but I think pretty, especially for me, used lots of leftover bits and took me over a year due to other things going on in my life ☺☺
Decided to make Mum a couple of washcloths for Mothers day to add to the goat soap, jam, perfume. This one is knitted and pattern from this book  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/101-designer-one-skein-wonders
This one  is crocheted and do hope she likes it.Pattern link here http://voices.yahoo.com/quick-easy-crochet-dishcloth-pattern-3794198.html?cat=46 Also taking her to the movies on Saturday to see THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL. Then Sunday over to see Sarah's new place and catch up with those sons of mine and the 2 grandsons too ☺☺

Update on the laundry, tiles all back on floor, trough in, front loader installed on top of heavy duty drawer and look, I now have a tall cupboard. Very neat and will be able to store lots in there.

All the brooms etc are in that cupboard with plenty of shelves. Thank you bunnings and the man.

Obviously the May page of my calender.
Off to donate blood today, do that every 3mths with the thought  of my dear dad and younger brother Andy, both no longer with us and like to think I am helping others survive.
Will try and get a few Mothers day snaps on Sunday and post after the weekend. Hello to anyone out there ☺☺

PLUGS!! Food, Koala and Laundry

DO PLUGS EVER WORK!!
I know, this may seem crazy but....... anyone out there (if anyone reads this at all) have problems purchasing a plug that will actually keep the water in the sink???? bath??? basin???? not this one, to flimsy.

Nope, not this one either....Looks nice but water just drained quite quickly and I know the sink is okay as one of the older plugs if you stuff it in firmly water holds.

And yep none of the works unless the one next to the silver guy is stuffed in hard.
Crazy I know, but are there ANY plugs out there.... taking a few back except the dirty looking guys in this pic as well they kind of work depending on what you do at the beginning of filling sink/bath/basin. Just want a good reliable PLUG!!

Thought I would have a go at beef wellington with filo pastry as a healthier version for me and Mr. Just made up a quick recipe with mushrooms/capsicum/onion/garlic/thyme with a splash of red wine to put around the nice piece of eye fillet we bought and a couple of potatoes.

Nothing better than home brown basil with carrots and a dash of maple syrup.
The meal turned out really nice and quite healthy too.

Bit blurry but here is a progress shot of the koala from last post that I started for this Ravelry link http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/laughing-purple-goldfish-designs/2087702/101-125#106

Finished, had a problem with the safety eyes due to backs being way too small, but thank you to brainwaves from a Rav friend, the man drilled larger holes so walla, eyes on, I call her "pretty in pink"

Close up of the earrings, think I know a little girl who might like Pretty in Pink.

Exciting the new trough installed and some nice blue borders to cover wall repairs, but is a really nice touch.

Tiles put back and new wooden edging around which wont be seen anyway once machine and new cupboard all put in place.
Heading of the visit my mum again then Friday off on a week holiday to Mulwala. Hope to do a bit of a post/pic thing whilst away. See you soon people ☺♥

Laundry renovations continue and the vegie garden

The front loader is now on its own drawed shelf and at a perfect height, no more  kneeling at the machine

The drawer is pretty big so can fit lots of laundry type things and my own tools too.

No more hole in the wall, all repaired and painted, now just need plumber to install the trough.

Amazing what a bit of villa board can do to a wall, ready for electrical point to be reinstalled.
Don't like finding this on my tomatoes plants!!! They are coming to an end, but, that does not mean some hideous green bugs have to sabotage the plants. Soon sorted this guy out and his friends ☺

Thought after attacking the bugs I would trim and re stake the last of the tomatoes plants.

Only a few fruits left on this one, but will be eaten by us, not bugs lol.

Picked up some lettuce seedlings from Aldi so in they went, hope they grown okay. Weather is amazing at the moment, but I know that wont last.

Also planted (unseen) Daffodil bulbs all along the front of this garden so now the long wait to see them come up and flower ☺

Those Corella's are still going crazy around here and the Cockatoos have also joined them upsetting quite a few of the neighboring dogs lol lol.

Yummy food further laundry renovations

I had some mince so googled for a recipe and found this http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/Beef-Mince-Pide-L7729.html and were easy to make as I make bread quite a bit anyway so had ingredients to hand.

Look at these yummy tasty morsels, well rather large but nice. I also added some mixed herbs to the mince and garlic of course, love the stuff.

This is the Kilcunda cemetery, what a magnificent place/view.  Perhaps being a cemetery not exactly magnificent, but this is a very beautiful place and I have an Uncle and Aunt who are buried here.

Now no door in the hallway to the laundry so the man can paint it and get on with more.

The holes that are in the actual kitchen cupboards have now all been boarded up so no more spiders coming in lol.

the man cleaning as he goes ☺♥

Inside one of the kitchen cupboards to show the repair job for the holes. Kitchen will be replaced but that will be at a much later stage.
Been on the road to take mum to medical appointment and catch up with one of my sisters to, no pics of that and reckon they would be very happy with that for some reason lol lol.
Oh and also did a little pick up and delivery for a very nice lady, but cant show the pics yet as she has NOT seen what the parcel is yet, so next time maybe ☺

The beginning of laundry reno!!

Here are a few pics of the now getting dismantled/destroyed/repaired laundry.

Actually like these tiles, but need to go as wall behind not too good, so wall decisions to be made.

Love my maytag front loader ♥♥
Goodbye to the old trough and wait on plumbers quote for new one and taps.
My handyman is doing the rest though. ☺☺

and yes a pic of mum (nanny) nice and snug with my scarf and shawl and even my car rug too lol.

A hole all the way through to the kitchen cupboard  lol.
And the man himself, busy ♥
New to this blog land, but hey I am good at talking to myself almost everyday so at least I can entertain myself very well ☺☺
