Sabotage in the garden and bits and pieces

Hey there ☺ Look at what happened to my Rosemary bush while away......dead in the middle, not from lack of water or over water, very puzzling and have now trimmed it back. Thank goodness part of it (the green you can see) survived. Oh well.

The Sage and Thyme are thriving as is the

Basil

Aloe Vera, mint and succulents

And the lemon tree has gone mad with growth ☺

I have been doing a bit of crochet, these are for someone who has just had a birthday if I ever finish them lol

And the Granny Stripe blanket has come along well.

In fact, it is completed!! Now to gift it in a few months.

And look what came on my computer screen on Monday!! Yay, google wishing me a happy birthday lol
I was born in 57 and am now 57, neat. I got quite a few cards and HEAPS of msgs via facebook, sms, emails

My dear Mum who is 89 makes cards for most family members and look at this one she did for me.....ALICE COOPER, she knows I have loved him and his music since I was 15 so very special of her to do, as she is NOT  a fan lol

And who is this lurking outside our kitchen window?

A Meerkat whom I have called Mack. One of my sister's gave him to me for my birthday. He has a solar panel and the little lantern he holds lights up at night ☺ He now hangs out with the chickens who also light up in the dark, sheep and lizard on the shelf.

Another blogger I know is going through a kitchen renovation which her hubby and her are doing and thought I would share our bathroom which is in need of a MAJOR redo sometime this year

Got to love the archway to the bath and how about all the tiles missing. I bought the house like this and well, we have fixed up the toilet and kitchen and also had whole house re carpeted so this job is next on our to do list.
How has your week been and are you doing any fun things?
Take care and see you soon
I am catching up with some close friends this weekend and looking forward to that.

Hello

Hello, again been missing again, not away just doing lots of family catch ups before we head off to New Zealand next week. I finally, after a whole year complete a pair of socks, only problem though is the second one on the right of your screen is slightly larger as I wanted them to be bigger than the first sock. So yes I now need to do a third sock to match the second one and if I have enough wool, a fourth to match the first lol Does that make sense? lol.

I have also made more progress on the granny stripe for my nephews expected baby ☺

Nice sunny outdoor shot. Today really is a lovely day after having extreme heat, then fires, then cooling down a little. The open cut at the mine is still burning with the hope it will be put our completely by the end of this weekend....but then coal can keep on for a long time.

The larger sock alone....I am very happy with it though and look forward to wearing.
How are things in your place, been busy or making things or like me doing very little except family/friend catchups.
Head off on Wednesday for nz so may be missing a little bit or I may be lucky to blog while away and share lots of pictures with you all. I may be lucky to find some yummy yarn too ☺
Welcome to the new followers and a big hello to you all out there.
xoxo ☺☺♥♥

A bit more sewing has been done.

Hello there!  We needed a curtain for the door on the Winjana so it would be nice and dark for those pesky sunny mornings. So I chose this neat fabric, just a cotton type with little black cats all over it. I sewed 3 layers of fabric together.

Added some iron Velcro.

And stick on Velcro was going to be put around this window here on the door.

Placed the finished curtain on the door.

See you can just see the Kitty's behind the wire door when it is locked in place ☺

This is how it looks when we have the wire door shut, but the main door open.

A distance shot and I keep forgetting just how tall the Winjana is, I can stand under the front of it to the left of this picture lol.

Then I must have felt on a roll with the sewing bug as I then decided to cut up and old long sleeve t-shirt type top which had been worn HEAPS......

Chose this fabric for the sleeves.

And this stretchy velvet type for the body.

Even made my own bias binding to go around the neck

There it is all complete and I love it ☺☺

Close up of the neck bias.

And showing the sleeves better ☺

I have got a lot more done on that granny stripe blanket too.
Still working on that 2nd sock, but at least I am doing things.
What's happening at your place?
Thanks again for being followers and leaving lovely comments ♥

Quick visit

Hello again! Here is that lovely little grand girl Misty. I live 2hrs away from most of my kids and even 10hrs from my oldest boy so visits are not always often enough. I had medical things to take my mum to so grabbed the chance to drop in quickly on these 4 as my middle boy had a birthday so able to give it to him in person ☺

The birthday guy himself ☺

Oh little Mr Riley is growing so much and very hard to take a picture of him not moving lol.

What a face ♥

And his mum ☺
Bad me did not take one single photo of my mum. She is probably glad as after being in hospital for 2 nights she is not really keen on candid photo's being take lol She is going well though so that is good.

Now I thought I might just have a go at drafting a pattern for a skirt! I used to do this sort of thing when my kids were small and made most of their clothes, well that was roughly 30 years ago lol
So let's just see how long this will take me as you know how long I take to do anything these day.....
I can say I have drafted the front piece of the skirt and liking this book Design-It-Yourself-Clothes-Patternmaking-Cal-Patch Wish me luck on this old age adventure ☺

That granny strip I started is growing slowly and a different assortment of colours.

And here is that sock still also growing slowly, but at least I have variety in my life.
What are you up to at the moment?
Today is Australia day here, so happy Australia day ☺

Crochet/Knitting mojo slowly returning

Hello again, seem to be posting on a weekly basis lately, but that is fine as don't want to bore anyone.
Noticed the full moon over the neighbors house the other night so of course I had to take a snap.

Zoomed in for a nice close shot, beautiful ☺

Thought you might like to see how the sunflower has opened up a bit more. The weather here has been crazy hot, 43celcius and above......but cool this week thank goodness.

Got to love a sunflower, makes you feel happy just looking at it ☺

I finished the small blue shawl/blanket for my mum. Her birthday is not till March so I am ready which is a big change for me. I am hoping she will keep this on her chair in the lounge as she loves blue and it will be there to keep her warm when needed.

Of course would look a bit better with her modelling it, but that will have to wait.

I chose some style craft special dk from my stash to begin making a blanket for a baby due this year in the family.

So far looking okay with the Granny Stripe pattern from Lucy at Attic24
Nice neutral colours to suit either girl or boy.

And look! I have actually done a bit more of the sock, go me.
I really would like to have the pair completed by end of Feb so let's hope I do get them finished for me to wear.
Thank you again for dropping in ☺♥
